Christopher Frerking

Christopher Frerking

Professor of Law
Director of the Patent Practice and Procedure Program

Christopher Frerking is a registered patent attorney, and specialist in international patent law, with over 14 years of patent prosecution experience. 

He has most recently been based in Munich, working as a partner in a German international IP firm.

His background also includes both an MS and a BS in computer science, and eight years of experience at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

Carroll, Kevin J.

Kevin J. Carroll

Adjunct Professor, Patent Law

Kevin J. Carroll has been an adjunct faculty member at UNH Law for over 15 years.  He has taught both U.S. Patent Law and Patent Practice and Procedure.

Professor Carroll has over 20 years of experience in the patent field, and prior to law school, worked as a patent examiner in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.   He is currently an equity partner with the intellectual property law firm of Grossman, Tucker, Perreault & Pfleger, PLLC in Manchester, NH, where his practice focuses on patent prosecution, opinion work, licensing and IP counseling in a wide range of technologies.  He was selected as the top IP attorney in New Hampshire by Business NH Magazine in 2010.

Professor Carroll earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and is a graduate of UNH Law.


Brian J. Colandreo

Adjunct Professor, Patent Practice and Procedure, Fundamentals of IP Online

Brian J. Colandreo is the National Patent Practice Leader and practices in the area of patent law as a member of the Intellectual Property Law Practice Group of the Litigation Section of Holland & Knight.

A registered patent attorney and an electrical engineer, he focuses his practice on client management and development, general intellectual property prosecution, transactional work, litigation and M&A support, due diligence work, and IP opinion work.

Prior to entering law school, Colandreo worked as a systems/software engineer for Johnson Controls and, prior to joining Holland & Knight, he practiced at the Boston offices of Fish & Richardson and McDermott, Will & Emery.

Kristina Grasso

Kristina Grasso Patent Practice & Procedure I Online

Kristina Grasso has been an adjunct professor at the University of New Hampshire School of Law in Concord, New Hampshire for the past 7 years, where she is a section leader for the Patent Practice & Procedure I and II courses. She holds BS, MS and JD degrees.

Grasso is also a registered patent attorney that specializes in biotechnology patents. She has experience with design, mechanical, and business method patents. She also has experience in trademark and copyright law. 

Grasso has worked in the intellectual property field for over 20 years and has been a practicing attorney for over 12 years, both in law firms and as a solo practitioner.
