UNH Law Sports Law Professor Interviews Armstrong in ‘Sports Illustrated’ Exclusive
Professor Michael McCann, the director of UNH Law’s upcoming Sports Law Institute and a legal analyst and writer for Sports Illustrated and SI.com, talked with Lance Armstrong at his home in Austin, TX, last week.
The interview, McCann writes on SI.com, “was an intense, sometimes contentious, conversation that lasted for about three hours.” This was the first time Armstrong had been interviewed since his much-talked-about January interview with Oprah Winfrey.
McCann’s interview with Armstrong, which he writes about in this week’s issue of Sports Illustrated, included revelations that Armstrong considered giving his first interview to Tom Brokaw rather than to Oprah and that Armstrong also considered instead producing a short video of himself talking directly to the viewer.
McCann shares more highlights of his interview, and upcoming article, in his column about the experience on SI.com.
